Ingredients
The Ham
  • 12-14 lb ham whole cured, smoked, bone-in, skin removed
Glaze Base (choose 1 ingredient from each of the next 3 groups)
Sweet Options (1/4 cup, your choice)
Spicy Options (1 tbsp, your choice)
Boozy Options (3 tbsp, your choice)
Servings: people
Instructions
  1. Mix the glaze based on the ingredients you chose above. Preheat oven to 350* F.
  2. Place the ham on a rack in a large roasting pan. Add 2 cups of water to the pan to keep the drippings from scorching. Score the ham fat in a cross-hatch pattern, cutting about 1/2" deep. Brush the ham with glaze and roast in oven, basting with pan juices every 20 minutes and tenting with foil if needed until a thermometer in the thickest part of the ham registers 135* F, about 1.5-2 hours. A 10-12 lb ham will take 1-1.5 hours while a 14-16 lb ham will take 2-3 hours.
  3. Remove from oven and let rest for 10-20 minutes before carving.
